Place du Pilori, face au puits public récemment débouché, et bâtie par Un campanile, un cadran solaire et une deuxième lucarne, copie de celle à | THE “MAISON DU CANON” In Place du Pilori, opposite the public well, the building called the House of the Canon (now the Town Hall) has a barrel of a canon on its corner. This was to ensure that the wheels of the passing carts did not hit the wall of the building. The house was donated to the town by a descendant of the Levesque family, with the proviso that it became the Town Hall and that the little square by the former entrance be called Place Louis Levesque. A Bell Tower, a sundial and a second dormer window with scallop shell facing were aded to the building which, since 1941, has been listed as an Historical Monument. |
